Friday Nights

23 Apr 2021

Hello,

We are really excited to welcome to the club on Friday evening, all our registered U7's and those girls who registered following our taster sessions. We are looking forward to having you with us. The shirts are all on order and we'll let you know when these arrive.

We expect more than 200 juniors to be playing or training at the club across Friday evening making it our busiest night ever. As such, because we want everyone to have fun and stay safe, we thought we'd better write with a few guidelines. We know they're boring but they are hugely important so please read and follow them.

Firstly, we need to stress that most age groups are now FULL and they have waiting lists in operation. We love that our juniors are so keen to share their joy of cricket with their friends and that they promote the junior section in the playground. However, we must ask them not to bring any friends along with them to any training session without first checking with us  (HMCC.juniors@gmail.com) whether there is any space (and we really do have no space in the U7's-13's and not much wriggle room in the girls teams).  Safeguarding is our absolute priority and our numbers are rightly limited by safeguarding procedures. We simply have no room to welcome any extra’s on the evening. We apologise for this now but please do not turn up if you don’t have a place as we will not be able to squeeze your child in.

Secondly, as well as all the groups training on Friday, our U13's also have an inter-squad match. We have planned the pitch layout in a way that will maintain the safety of all those training. However we must insist, as was made clear in our code of conduct upon booking, that all parents, guardians and siblings stay behind the fences in front of the clubhouse at all times.  Please do not enter the field unless asked to by a coach.

Thirdly, for those in Reception, Y1 and Y2,  please ensure that a parent or guardian remains on site and accessible at all times. For those in Yrs 3-6 you must inform the coaches if you will not be staying on site.

And finally please be prompt in collecting your children. With so much cricket happening in back to back sessions, we have a very short timescale for collection and the arrival of the next group so please ensure you are ready to collect.

As we say, we know this email sounds a bit heavy, but it's in order that we can deliver a really safe and fun night for all involved.

We're really looking forward to it.  Friday nights on Green Lane are fantastic.
