Founded in 2018, Heaton Mersey Women’s Cricket has grown into a vibrant and supportive squad of over 40 players—and we’re still growing!

We play both softball and hardball cricket throughout the summer in the Cheshire Women’s League, and during the winter we compete in the indoor softball league at Marple Hall School.

We welcome women of all abilities, whether you’re completely new to cricket or looking to develop your game further. Beginners are especially encouraged—our focus is on being inclusive, having fun, and helping you build confidence and skills at a level that suits you.

Our Summer Teams

We currently run three squads:

• CWL Division 3 – Hardball (30 overs)
  Heaton Mersey & Cheadle Women’s 1st XI (a joint team with Cheadle Cricket Club)
• CWL Division 5 – Hardball Pairs
  Heaton Mersey Women’s 2nd XI
• CWL Division 7 – Softball Pairs
  Heaton Mersey Women’s Softball

We also organise friendly intra-squad matches and take part in local softball festivals throughout the summer.

Summer Training

• Hardball: Mondays, 6:45–8:30pm
  Heaton Sports Club
• Softball: Fridays, 7:00–8:00pm
  Heaton Sports Club

Our Winter Teams

This winter, two squads competed in the Women’s Indoor Softball League at Marple Hall School.

Winter training sessions include:

• Softball:   Sundays, 4:00–5:00pm at Priestnall School
• Hardball: Tuesdays, 7:00pm at Coverdrive Cricket Centre

We plan to continue winter training and competing in the indoor softball competition next winter.
