Summer Development Courses

Week 1 Monday 1st to Friday 5th August

Week 2 Monday 8th to Friday 12th August

Coaches will be around from 9am to 5pm, with the cricket happening 9.30am - 4.30pm.

Year 2 (age 7 on 31 August 2022) to Year 9 children welcome.

Participants will be split into groups according to age & ability - ensuring each child is learning & enjoying their cricket at the best level for them.

The programme will include the following:

Technical enhancement
Tactical development
Mental awareness
Power hitting masterclasses
Depth bowling
Specialised fielding sessions
Physical conditioning
Developing captains
Lots and lots of fun!!

We have full programmes planned in case of inclement weather. Each week will build towards a climax on Fridays with all participants involved in a fun competition and awards ceremony.

The course programme has been written by Atiq-uz-Zaman (although he will not be at every session) and he is supported by a team of experienced coaches.

When booking less than 10 days they do not need to be consecutive.

Girls Specialist Days

Whilst we have lots of girls already booked on, and all sessions will be mixed, we have created a 3 day Girls course in the second week from Monday to Wednesday.

As such girls are encouraged to sign up for those three days (of course they are welcome for the full week) at £80.

Meet the team

Atiq-uz-Zaman

Atiq is an International Cricketer & Coach. He is currently working towards his level 4 qualification in coaching & a current England batting scout. He has developed the course and will be overseeing it.

Craig Shirley

Craig is an all round cricketer from Australia who is spending the season at Heaton Mersey Cricket Club. He has recently implemented our very own 6 week programme into local schools and is raring to go to look after the children in summer camp.

Chris Shaw

Chris is a very experienced coach, coaching at the club for a number of years and is one of our most popular coaches. He is currently the lead coach of our u13s and our U13s Academy.
