Heaton Mersey Magic (U10s) Cheshire County Cricket League Match 6

My best AI impersonation from scanned paper scorecards.....

Mersey welcomed Alderley Edge on Wednesday night, with the half-term squad bolstered by some of our bigger (see photo) lads from the U11s.

Bowling first, George and Isaac had the opposition in trouble. The former conceded just 2 runs from his 2 overs and the latter picked up 2 wickets. Ellis, Toby (1 wicket), Sam (1 wicket) and Seb A kept things tight through the middle overs before the pressure was turned up. Calum and Seb B (1 wicket) didn't give anything away and then Louis and Alec wrapped things up with 3 wickets for just 8 runs (-4 in pairs). Restricting them to 87 for 8 meant a net score of 255.

George and Isaac opened up and had over half of that knocked off after just 4 overs. An amazing start which really took the pressure off. The middle order got us within a handful of runs. Down to Alec and Louis to knock off the final few. That was done with relative ease. Mersey's net score of 274 meant we'd won by 19 for our first win in the harder Cheshire county league. A fantastic effort from all the boys and one to be really proud of. That's two wins in a row after Mellor.

I'm sure there were many fantastic highlights on the evening. Just looking at the scorecard hides so much. Apologies for any inaccuracies in the above and the transfer of the score to Playcricket.
